I walked through the control center of Tyro base. I spent much time in this multi-chambered wing, with its vast bank of consoles and data hubs for incoming and outgoing transmissions. It was fully manned with a mix of Stryxians, androids, and individuals of other species, hired for various unique skills. They all answered to me with the understanding that the Vanyi approved my moves. It sickened me to think that the warriors I led saw me as an extension of Sleer’s rule.

That would end. Soon. The control center gave way to a narrow corridor that ended in a private capsule room. On the base schematics, this chamber appeared as one of the base’s many, many planning rooms. The control center itself held no less than twenty-two, but this one held a secret known only to the high commander of the base—me.

If the Vanyi had inspected the base more thoroughly when they moved in, they would have wondered why this room was locked. Thank Trall they hadn’t. I would have had a good time trying to explain why this seemingly ordinary room had its own exterior dock, just big enough to accommodate a small shuttle and an airlock. It was designed for meetings like the one I was about to have.

I nodded to those I passed and continued to the end of the corridor where I stood before the scanner and waited for the few seconds it took to be authenticated. The door slid open. I entered the secure room. It was empty. No furniture adorned this space—nothing that could be implanted with a monitoring device.

My guest was not yet due to arrive. Those who came entered through a hidden crevasse in the moon’s ice surface. They were not recorded in the official logs. The path they took avoided all monitors and sensors. The original designers of Tyro base were brilliant.

Alone, I paced the narrow, windowless room and allowed myself to release a long, frustrated breath.

My thoughts drifted back to the human female who was, by now, thoroughly investigating my—our—quarters. I had just left her, but I wanted her again. Fulk, I had not been at the mercy of my urges since my middle years, or the ranito stage—those few miserable cycles when young Stryxians matured into their adult form. Copulation was all I thought about then, and this was feeling awfully similar to those times. I ran tense fingers through my hair and let out a groan as my throbbing prick pressed against the closure of my pants.

I had not expected to be as intensely attracted to her as I was. Humans were so fragile, I couldn’t imagine one of their females surviving a mating with a mature Stryxian male. They could, obviously. I could personally attest to it, after spending significant time with my cock inside Trinity. My conclusion—humans were more durable than previously thought. Also, several Stryxian-human matches had already been made and none of the females had died in the arms of their mates.

Even now, I
